Maidenhead Hockey Club 1 of 10

1. Welcome to Maidenhead Hockey Club

Maidenhead Hockey Club is a welcoming family club. Founded in 1904, our membership is circa 410 members, of which there is a mixture of Colts and Adults, beginners, and experienced players. Maidenhead Hockey Club is an England Hockey Clubs First accredited club and part of the Active Sports Initiative to train more coaches and actively take the sport into more local schools.

During the hockey season, we run five men's and five ladies' teams spanning ability ranges. Additionally, we field players in the O35 England team and have strong links with the ladies' GB squad. Training takes place on our pitch at Altwood School on weekday evenings, with specialised goalkeeper training also offered. Our coaches are all qualified and insured and work with each team to make hockey fun and highly competitive for our upper teams. We encourage all new members, whether they are returning players, new to hockey or playing in a national league, there is a team for you at Maidenhead Hockey Club.

Our Colts players are aged from 5 years to 18 years - year groups U6 to U18's boys and girls. We have a thriving Colts section which continues to build each year. In 2022 our U18 girls' squad won the national L2 England Hockey championship. Colts coaching is run by professional coaches supported by our Young Leaders. On Sunday mornings, there is nothing better than to watch our incredible U6s and U8s enjoying hockey with great enthusiasm.

We are run by a small management team of local professionals dedicated to developing hockey within the local community. In 2022 we appointed David Joshua as our full-time Director of Coaching. David is guiding our talent strategy from Colts to adults and maintaining our quality of coaching in all we provide.

Outside of the hockey season, we provide skills training and play in various summer leagues. We hold holiday camps for Colts and are starting an outreach programme with local schools. Your diary will always have hockey in it!

If you or your child decide to come and play at Maidenhead, you will find it a friendly club where we foster friendship and social players through competitive squads. As Colts, the children can learn a skill and make friends outside the school environment, which is a great leveller.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming a member or have any questions, please email us at membershipsecretary@maidenheadhc.org.uk for more information and a warm welcome.

Warm Wishes,
