About Our Club
Founded in 1904 Maidenhead Hockey Club runs seven Men's & five Ladies' sides every Saturday. These sides compete in regional and local leagues and provide opportunities for all ages and abilities. Our coaching resources are available to all our members. The Men train on a Tuesday evening (7pm-10pm) and the Ladies on a Thursday evening (7pm-10pm) with sections offering both club and elite coaching sessions.
We also enter a number of cup competitions for men, women, mixed and veterans on both a national and regional level with these games usually being held on a Sunday.
Our thriving Colts community runs on a Sunday morning and caters for boys and girls from Under-8s to Under-18s and Maidenhead Hockey Club is part of the Active Sports Initiative to both train more coaches and to actively take the sport into more schools within the Borough. Our dedicated team of coaches has produced numerous players who have gone on to compete at the highest level, including Matt Daly and Jon Potter, and many many more who continue to enjoy the game at more social levels.
The club has access to two recently built astroturf pitches, our own water based pitch at Altwood School and a sand-dressed pitch, run by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM), at Braywick. As well as our superb playing facilities our club house offers our members a chance to relax and enjoy some light refreshments in its scenic location by the River Thames.
