The best way to keep up to date with Maidenhead Hockey Club

MHC fantastic HockeyFest

1 year ago By Maidenhead Hockey Club

A big thank you to everyone who came for making this such a great event.

“What a great event, this is just how we want to start to the season for our club. We were all pleasantly surprised at the number of people attending, especially people who've never played before. A true celebration of hockey.” David Taylor, MHC Chairman

On Saturday 3rd September we welcomed over 300 people to our home pitch at Altwood School to celebrate Hockeyfest. There were 4 year olds picking up their first stick, back to hockey mums remembering how much fun they used to have playing the game, boys eating strawberry shoelaces at a great pace, 8 year olds to Dads having a go to see how fast they could hit a ball into the goal.

The event was nicely summed up by one our Ladies Club Captains, Fran Hodge, "Everywhere you looked people were smiling and playing, that's what hockeyfest is about."
