This was a quality match where, for once, the Maids had all the luck that has deserted them most of the season.

Newbury and Thatcham had most of the possession in the first half and yet, having started the match as the first substitute, Sophie Hunt came on and capitalised on a break that came the Maids way and so took the Maids into the lead. Passing was strong and some good joined together moves between midfield, wings and the forward line were displayed.

  • Ladies 4th XI drew with Amersham and Chalfont 1 - 1

This was a very good performance by Maidenhead, particularly in the second half. Played in the first half was pretty even in terms of mid field possession but Amersham had more of the breaks. A mid way goal dented Maidenhead's spirits somewhat but the situation was contained until half time, despite the goalie having trouble with a snapped kicker strap, and leaving the kicker behind during one save!
