This is an exciting time for our sport, Olympic success was built on positive and inclusive team culture. The return of hockey to the Olympic park in June 2018 with the women’s World league. Our sport will achieve greater TV coverage from 2019 with the launch of the revised World Hockey league.

Our club is friendly is inclusive and there is a place for every child at Maidenhead Hockey club. We want success across all our age groups. Success means pushing the more able, and encouraging those new to the sport. The key to this is in quality of coaching and creating an environment where all can reach their potential.

We are fortunate that many parent helpers give their time and want to give back and be part of the club.

On a personal and professional level I see the positive results of coaching every day and want to raise the standard of coaching across the club. With the support of the committee I have able to achieve investment in running our first Introduction to hockey coaching course. This will be run with the support of England Hockey. All colts coaches have signed up. I thank them for their support and volunteering time they give.

We have age groups from U6 to U 18’s. Very pleasing to note that last three U6’s coaches have been through the whole club system and want to give back and coach the younger colts.

The club also invested in a new blue ‘surf turf’ at Altwood and many colts will have the opportunity to play on it this season. Many colts have enjoyed the popular and fun summer camps.

Please do ask any questions pass on any feedback as we are committed to be a welcoming and engaging club. I would also like to reach out and ask any parents who believe they would like to help but don’t know how to ask. It was only three seasons ago I was on the touchline, wanting to help but being new to hockey did not know how.
