Saturday was an fantastic evening of celebration of the highs and lows of the season and also a time to reflect and remember those that we have lost.
This year we wanted to recognise a dear member of our hockey club, Georgina Parkinson who we sadly lost last year to cancer. With her family we have launched a new award for the club, The Georgina Parkinson Unsung Hero Award and our worthy winners of this award were Nathan Hurst and Liam Gillooly who selflessly raised funds and awareness of the Anthony Nolan charity on behalf of another member of our club.
In honour of another member of our hockey family who we lost this season, Craig Mair we have also changed the name of the Men's Cup to the Craig Mair Cup. This year this was awarded to Marcus Foley in recognition of his dedication to his own team, coaching of the U18's boys, supporting them on Easter Tour and all that he gives the club.
