Maidenhead Hockey Club has for some time been reviewing the potential options for new pitches and associated facilities to provide a sustainable future and growth for the club. Operating over three key sites at Altwood, Braywick and Bray, as well as using the facilities at Windsor Boys School, as we do now, presents a number of logistical challenges in managing and maintaining our activities.

Based on feedback from our members, the Management’s Committee’s vision for the club has been to co-locate all playing, coaching and social activities to one location. This would nurture a greater sense of community within the Club and enable us to enhance our overall hockey experience for all our members and supporters.

In order to achieve our vision we have been working in partnership with Claire’s Court School and today we are pleased to advise that they recently submitted a planning application for the new Claire’s Court school campus includes provision for new facilities for Maidenhead Hockey Club. This has received coverage in the Maidenhead Advertiser today.

The proposals provide us with the opportunity for two new all-weather hockey pitches co-located with changing room and clubhouse facilities that will be shared with the school.

These new facilities will deliver improved sporting, health and wellbeing for our members, helping the club to grow and attract a new generation of hockey players.

Whilst these plans are exciting and ambitious a lot of effort will be needed to make them happen and there will no doubt be many challenges to overcome. So to make these plans a reality we will be asking you, our members and supporters, to put your support behind the proposals in the forthcoming weeks.
