The best way to keep up to date with Maidenhead Hockey Club

The sad passing of Raj Sood

6 months ago By Lindsey Lucas

A long time member, coach and club member and supporter that will be truly missed.

“Raj sood or affectionately known as the 'Maharajah' was a real supporter of the Club and coached the colts in the 90's with some of those players still at the club today. He was a true believer of the game being played with respect and attention to detai” Bex Miall, Ladies Captain

It is with great sadness that I have to advise you that Raj passed away yesterday,
Friday 9 th February, following a long illness, bravely borne.
The funeral is to take place at Amersham Crematorium next Friday 16 th February at
16:45. There will be a celebration of Raj’s life at the Club, following the ceremony.

Raj was a passionate player and always put his all into every game. Even after he
had to give up playing he was an ardent supporter, to be seen at Altwood on most
He was a charming man with forthright views and he will be sorely missed by all who
knew him.
Our thoughts are with his family at this sad time.
