Maidenhead ladies 1st XI were back to winning ways with a convincing win over Trojans on Saturday. However, it was Trojans who started more confidently and were rewarded by an early goal in the opening 5 minutes. Despite going 1-0 down Maidenhead rallied and began to take control of the game. Captain, Chantal Frost leveled the score after picking up the ball in a midfield position and driving through the Trojans defence unleashing an unstoppable shot. Maidenhead then started to relax and dictate the game and it wasn’t long before Raquel Deniz put the home side into the lead when she latched onto an excellent ball played into the circle. Throughout the rest of the game Maidenhead had numerous chances to extend their lead and centre forward Vix Goodacre scored a hat trick of goals in quick succession. The home side demanded more from the game and they did not stop the forceful attacks. Raquel Deniz managed to get a touch on another strong ball played into the circle and Lisa Scarborough finished the game off with a bullet of a shot recycled from a penalty corner. Trojans didn’t give up and remained a threat throughout scoring late on. Maidenhead player of the match was defender Rachel Smet.
