Death of Cyril Burdett

CYRIL BURDETT

It is with the deepest regret that I have to inform you that Cyril Burdett, a longstanding member of the Club, passed away on Saturday 14 November after a short illness. Cyril was 88 years old.

Cyril was a loyal member of the Club for many years, playing for Maidenhead First Eleven throughout the Nineteen Fifties. He was an active member of the Management Committee from 1954 until the early Sixties. Indeed a quotation from the 1957 Annual Report read “none worked harder than Cyril Burdett”.

The funeral is to be held on Tuesday 24th November at Slough Crematorium at 11 in the morning. I am sure that the Club will be well represented.

Cyril will be sadly missed by many.
