Great Britain women’s hockey team sets up semi final clash with Germany

Great Britain’s women’s hockey team, including Ladies 2s guest coaches Hannah Macleod and Alex Danson, will face long-standing rivals Germany in the semi finals of the Champions Trophy in Rosario, Argentina, on Saturday evening with the match set to be shown live on the BBC.

The final four clash takes place at 20:30 GMT (17:30 local) on Saturday and will be shown live on the BBC red button platform on satellite, cable and freeview. The second semi final features Olympic Champions and world number one, The Netherlands, against World Champions and defending Champions Trophy title holders Argentina.

Great Britain reached the semi final by beating Korea 4-1 in Thursday night’s quarter final tie; the goals coming from Clifton’s Georgie Twigg and Reading’s Helen Richardson either side of two excellent strikes by Reading’s Alex Danson.
