Magicians v 4 Henley

It was a cold and wet day in Henley for a crucial game against a team just below us on points. On the back of two good results, hopes were high that we could keep the run going but alas it wasn't to be.

We started the game off in true Magicians style, at a slow pedestrian pace. This allowed Henley to score two goals in the first 10 minutes and put us immediately on the back foot. We did manage to rally and score what was described by the goal scorer Tim, as a mental goal from a mediocre cross from Clint. But as hopes were lifted, they were quickly dashed as Henley scored a third to close out the half 3-1.

After a very animated team talk from Viren we started the second half with purpose to try and get something out of the game. It was end to end stuff, with both teams having enough chances but neither were able to hit the target before we made a break through and won a penalty corner. Tim, instead of hitting the ball cleanly decided he would confuse the Henley defense and topped the ball. As it bounced passed the surprised defense, Dave M was on the back post to assist it in.

With the game at 3-2 we pushed for the equalizer with everyone going forward but unfortunately, we left ourselves open to a counter attack. Henley broke and managed to score the last goal of the game.
