A humdinger of a match with goals galore.

Goal Fest for Maidenhead
With the main striker for Maidenhead missing an early two or three half chances (Some say it was a lot more) a pressure play by Ashford got them in front from a deflected shot off a foot, whose foot might be debateable but the umpires decision counts. Back came Maidenhead with an equaliser off a rebound (probably chalked up to Chad). Then a goal from Alex to put us in front, but back came Ashford with another "soft" goal, both teams appreciated the good advantage being played by the umpires at both ends which led to a goal fest. A relaxed "Smudge" (from his office Christmas party) nipped in and put Maidenhead in front again, back came Ashford to equalise. The Maidenhead youngsters, Alex and Calumny stepped up their game as they found it easier to start harrying the Ashford defence and slowly perceptively the tide turned.Colin James
knocked another rebound into the far corner, then in the second half Chad put another one away and Smudge did likewise as a slow Ashford defence started arguing with their team members. The final goal was from and end of time penalty corner which was dispatched into the bottom left corner to leave Ashford wondering where it had all gone wrong.
