Ladies 1's vs Havant 1's

With a well earned 3-3 draw midweek clash with Henley, Maidenhead were definitely up for a good game against bottom of the table Havant.

The plan to start high and press early paid off with the home side having most of the pressure and creating chances. Some great runs from midfielders Chantal Hankin and Umayah through midfield linking well with the forwards, a great effort from Hankin as she was through on goal and fouled but no award for her efforts from the umpire.

Play continued well and great pressure from forwards Westacott and Downes finally saw the ball home twice in 10 minutes giving Maidenhead confidence and drive to push home their advantage. This proved trickier as the game continued, With decisions not going their way at critical points meant that momentum had swung towards the visitors and a well worked short corner resulted in pulling one goal back.

End to end play continued and some awesome tackling from both defences saw the game home and Maidenhead clinch their first 3 points since Christmas.

This week has been a real turning point and they look forward to taking on another tricky side away at Oxford Hawkes next week and all to play for .
