Ladies 1's vs Southampton 1's

In a hard-fought match, Maidenhead Ladies 1st team faced a tough loss against Southampton this weekend. They began on a strong note, with Eddie Westacott's brilliant play setting up Sarah Downes whose first time shot ricocheted off the opposition backboard. It was an early lead for maids.

However, Southampton quickly responded, earning a penalty corner and equalising before the second half.

Another strong start to the second half helped Maids regain their lead at 2-1 thanks to Amabel Hills and captain Chantal Hankin's teamwork in a masterclass in short corners.

Despite their efforts, Southampton managed to score two more goals, taking the lead at 4-2. Maidenhead didn't back down, and a penalty stroke unsurprisingly converted by top goal scorer Eddie Westacott brought the score to 4-3.

Amy Martin's outstanding performance earned her the title of the man of the match.
The team is gearing up for another challenging match against Oxford Hawks at home next weekend.
