A very important match for the twos away at Oxford Hawks. We started our penultimate league match late Tuesday evening.
With our committed and determined team we started the match with a series of positive passing penetrating the D confidently .
We scored our first goal early on with Mia weaving in and out of the players to find small spaces to deliver a well executed push pass in to the goal.
Oxford Hawks were retaliating with a series of speedy attacks and as they set up with a high press it made it difficult to find the angles to get out of defence.
The score was 1-0 at half time but they unfortunately equalised early into the second half.
We realised we had to step up a gear and play 2 touch hockey to off foot the defence. This resulted in a series of fabulous attacks and short corners .
Amabel converted from a short corner and shortly after Miranda found herself in the right place in the D to rebound the ball in the back of the net. Yazzi , Holly T and Emma were on fire down the right and so between them set up various attacks which eventually led to a well earned goal by Holly Tanner.
The final score was 4-1 to Maids and as our last game of the season is on Saturday we hope to keep the momentum going to end an incredible season
