Saturday afternoon saw the Ladies 3s take to the pitch for their first league game of the season vs an experienced South Berkshire side. Despite being the first time the team had played together, there was excellent teamwork and determination on display.
The first half saw a balanced contest, with both sides having their share of possession. We had a few promising opportunities in the D, but unfortunately, just couldn't find the back of the net. Despite the great home team support on the sideline. After a motivating halftime team talk from coach, Vic, the team returned with renewed energy and confidence.
We held our structure well and continued to work together cohesively, executing some fantastic pairwork down the lines, showcasing our potential. As the game neared its conclusion, the tension grew, and everyone dug deep to defend and clear the ball. Charlotte made some outstanding saves in goal to secure the draw.
This match marks just the beginning of our team journey, and there are great things ahead for the 3’s.
