On a delightful sunny morning in Henley, the clash between Henley and Maidenhead Ladies 3’s unfolded in a thrilling display of hockey.

The game started with promise as Maidenhead soon earned a short corner. A well-coordinated play with Caitlin’s strike narrowly missing the goal, setting the tone for a tightly contested match. Henley responded by winning a short corner, celebrating what seemed like a goal, only to have their joy dashed by the umpires decision.

In the 14th minute, Taylor demonstrated exceptional skill, navigating through the Henley team. Her precise play found Shreya unmarked at the back post, resulting in a smooth tap-in, and Maidenhead took the lead at 0-1.

Henley, undeterred, applied constant pressure. However, Maidenhead defence worked hard to clear, maintaining their lead. Anna had a great run up the right side of the pitch, however a shot from the top of the D was met with a commendable save from the Henley goalkeeper. The first half concluded with Maidenhead in possession and leading 0-1.

The second half kicked off with Maidenhead applying pressure from the pushback. Maidenhead surged up the pitch, with a chances on goal that were saved by Henley’s strong keeper. Maidenhead continued their pursuit, forcing defensive errors. A loose back pass from Henley fell to Frankie, whose powerful shot narrowly missed the right-hand post.

Henley, quickly turned over and created an opportunity. However, Lucy, made a crucial save, denying Henley the equalizer.A commendable combination between Anna and Hannah opened up another chance for Maidenhead. Hannah's powerful and lengthy pass into the D posed a threat, but unfortunately, it couldn’t be converted into a goal.

Henley, determined to level the score, intensified their efforts leading to a short corner. Executing a well-coordinated play around the top of the D, Henley secured the equalizer with a successful strike, leveling the score at 1-1.

The game remained finely balanced. In the final minutes, Maidenhead secured a crucial short corner. Caitlin unleashed a powerful strike from the top of the D, which was brilliantly deflected by Frankie. The ball soared past the Henley keeper, putting Maidenhead in the lead at 1-2.

The last moments of the match saw Maidenhead holding strong, the final whistle blew, signaling a win and three valuable points for Maidenhead Ladies 3’s!
