Ladies 4's vs Sonning 4's

Maidenhead got off to a slow start away at Sonning and 15 minutes in went one down to a well taken Sonning corner. Some good passing enabled us to put pressure on the Sonning goal and through the match we had a number of short corners but failed to score from any of them. Not long after the first goal, Sonning scored again from another corner, making a half time score of 2-0.

A half time talk from coach Bex saw an improvement in Maidenhead’s performance, rewarded with a good goal from Holly after 70 minutes. Despite some excellent defending especially from Courtney in goal and Kirsty at centre back, Sonning then pulled one back. Maidenhead were more and more in control as the game went on but couldn’t score again. Nonetheless, it was a creditable performance by Maidenhead with very strong effort and commitment by the whole team.
