Great team effort and a happy hat trick!

Maidenhead dominated the first half with several passes and runs down the right wing from Hannah and left side from Issy and Amy. The D was full of hustle and bustle. Using Debbie in the middle to run and send it further down the pitch. We never gave up and finally ‘the fantastic Issy’ gave us the goal we had all been waiting for. Defence managed to hold off any opportunities of Harlow scoring making it 1-0 at half time. Going back into the second half we were a fighting force. Straight down the line to Lucy, into the D and within two minutes a goal was scored by Issy after Amy’s shot was deflected to her by the goalkeeper. Little did we know what was about to happen. Harlow made a break for it and much to our disappointment succeeded not only once but twice in scoring, making us even at 2:2. With Maidenhead's fight there was no way we were going to settle for a draw. Kate and Debs helped create opportunities to switch the ball across the pitch meaning both sides could make good runs and this is where we saw the Issy, we all knew existed, come out. She was running round the Harlow players and passing it in to Amy and Claire. It finally came, the third and final goal. All we had to do now, with little time left on the clock, was to not let them score. Liz and Jodie did a great job at the back and kept fighting off the Harlow attackers and Alexis made a one on one save meaning we finished with a score of 3-2! This was a great team effort. What made me really proud was the support and encouragement we gave each other to keep on going. A big well done to Issy our player of the match-who bagged a well-deserved hat-trick.
Captain’s Postscript
Well done Charlotte on an excellent match report-as you said great team spirit. Although you modestly omitted your own huge contribution to the match-you were the driving force that kept us in it. You had several runs down the right hand side to the by-line which allowed us to either keep possession and play down their end or score our goals-well done on sharing man of the match-well deserved!
