Ladies 5's vs Windsor 4's

It was on a chilly Thursday evening that we finally managed to play our twice postponed game against Windsor Development.

We started strong and managed to get two goals in in the first 15 mins of the game. The first was scored by Holly and the second was tapped in by Tegan while the keeper lay on the floor. We had several attacking short corners but didn’t manage to get the ball in the goal.

Windsor spent some time in our D and won a few short corner which our defensive team of Helen, Jess, Kirsty and Lucy all expertly cleared. Leaving the score at half time at 2-0.

During our half time talk we spoke about all jumping back behind the ball when Windsor were attacking and having our players positioned in the D for those lovely balls being hit across the D.

As the second half started Windsor came out strong and we worked hard to take possession of the ball and move it up to the D. There was some lovely play from our mid field team of Izzy, Holly and Sienna who all showed off their fantastic skills getting the ball up to the forwards waiting in the D.

Our forwards Pippa, Tegan and Ciara tried their best to get that ball in the net but Windsor's defence was strong and they broke back down the pitch.

There was some tough defending down our end in which Helen ended up being hit in the chin with a stick! Ouch!
This meant Pippa dropped back to join the defensive team and Kacey took her place upfront.

The rest of the game was hard fought between both sides and we were glad to hear the final whistle. Our score still 2-0! Brilliant!

It was lovely to have a few new faces playing with us this week and all the supporters on the sideline, especially on such a chilly evening!
