And another draw .................

It was a sunny afternoon as we met Windsor for our game but the rain came later in buckets.

Windsor won pushback and started hard. We were a little asleep and they pressured us hard in our half but after our defensive team of Helen , Nehal, Mia and Jess cleared the ball and we all switched on.

We started working our way towards the goal. There were some lovely passes and runs up the lines made by Nehal, Sienna and Meghan on the left, and Helen, Gina and Cerys on the right with Kacey and Pippa working in the middle to support. We had several tries at goal, but they’re excellent, goalie and defenders would not let the ball in. We had an attacking short corner but did not manage to score.

After a few substitutions (as we were lucky enough to have 15 players!) Ali, defensive team has left back and work hard to move the ball at the line to Sienna and Meghan. On our right hand side, Helen as right back made several fabulous runs and big passes up the right side to Sasha, now in mid and Lottie and Ciara now upfront. As we made it to the D, there was a funny few moments and the ball travelled around the D, crossed the goal line, but was unfortunately disallowed.

At the end of the first half we were 0-0. We all shared our thoughts at half-time talk as we did not have a coach and we are ready to go back out and hopefully score some goals.

Second half started with our pushback. We found we were pretty evenly matched with Windsor (who had been promoted with us at the end of the last season). They won four short corners, each one played with Nehal making some brilliant runs one. And we even had one with a defender down when Ali run out too early, I had to go to the halfway line. But even with just the four of us we managed to keep the ball out of the goal We won several short corners, and after a few failed attempts at scoring, Kacey pushed out to Meghan who slipped to Mia, who scored!

Windsor pushed back hard and stormed down the left wing, or defenders were drawn out, and did not notice three! of their players enter the D until it was too late. 1-1 We ended with another draw.

All thoroughly enjoyed the game and played so well and did a fantastic job of sorting out something with no coach running the line. Well done girls. Huge thanks to Windsor - always a pleasure playing you.

Our player of the match was Meghan.
