Player of the match our Goalie Lucy L

We won first pushback and from the off we were switched on and worked hard to get the ball up the pitch. We continued this press for the first ten minutes of the game. Then Pippa passed a ball up to Meghan out on the wing, Pippa ran to top D, Meghan passed the ball back and Pippa took a shot. It went through the keepers feet and into the back of the goal. Our first goal of the game and Pippa’s first goal in about 6 years!

We kept this energy up and five minutes later Mia took a shot from the top of the D and also sent the ball through the keepers feet brining us to 2-0.

As our energy levels dropped Harlow forced us back into our half. We had to jump back to defend and unfortunately they managed to score two goals bringing us to 2-2 at the half time whistle.

Lucy led our half time talk and then we were ready to go.

Harlow pushed us hard from the off and our defensive team of Ali, Clare, Helen and Evie/Jess fought hard to stop them scoring. Unfortunately on two occasions they were drawn out to the ball and free players in the D managed to score.

We were two goals down but determined to score again. There were some fabulous tries, with lovey balls just wide of the goal from Mia, Meghan and Meribelle as our forwards.

Eventually we won a short corner, which Pippa pushed out a little wide. Meghan still expertly picked up the ball, brought it into the D and scored!

We then won another short corner. This time the ball went out to Mia who smashed it into the goal! 4-4!

Once again we started to get tired and started leaving players open again. Harlow took advantage of this and scored again.
We hadn’t given up yet though and Cerys, in the centre mid position worked hard to pick up balls and distribute them out to Lucy G on the wing.

We had a few more attempts on goal but then Harlow managed to slip one more in for them. Leaving the final score 6-4 to Harlow.
I am so proud of everyone this week. We stepped up our game and everyone took the opportunity when in the D to shoot. We had 4 goals and so many near ones!

Our player of the match goes to Lucy L who very kindly stepped into goal for us this week and did an amazing job!
