This afternoon our U12 Girls played at the Berkshire In2Hockey tournament at Reading Hockey Club.
The weather although dry was super cold and the girls did very well to keep warm and focused on the tough 6 games they played this afternoon - possibly due to the huge number of sweets they ate!
Today was a tough competition with noticeably a lot of older girls playing in the opposition squads. We were super proud to see them play together as a squad and they had plenty of practice on both defensive and attacking short corners. We had some moments of the great MHC team we are with some superb defence work and two great goals. It was good to see captain Meghan back having been injured since our
rainy tournament at Altwood some weeks ago and she led her team so well today.
Special mention to Tilly for stepping in at the last moment to be Goal Keeper and also for taking her role so seriously she popped along to training this morning as soon as she heard she was needed to get in some practice - you get my Player of the Match award this week Tilly.
Happy Birthday to our Reina for Tuesday!
Hope the tooth fairy comes Alex!
Huge thanks to Coach Holly for umpiring and help out the squad.
Thanks to Reading HC for organising and hosting.
Those who played together - Tilly, Asiye, Reina, Alex, Evie, Libby, Tiana, Bonnie, Meghan and Amy.
As always HUGE THANKS to all the parents for supporting the girls so well and for my cup of tea Stephanie.......
Have a great week.
Coach Helen
