The 2s got things back on track after a disappointing loss last week with a good 4-1 win at home to Oxford 3s on Saturday.
Bolstered by good availability, Maids picked a very strong side and started well with a nicely taken goal from Cameron Upton following a pullback into the P-spot. Questions continued to be asked by Maids going forwards and a second soon followed as Nick Lloyd picked up up Ollie Lovegrove's through-ball and rounded the keeper to score. Oxford started to come back into the game, but were denied by strong defending from Elvin Honders and Rob Kempton, before they finally pulled one back from a rebound off a short-corner. However, Maids' two goal advantage was soon restored as Marcus Foley also scored from a corner rebound, giving Maids a 3-1 advantage at half-time.
The second half was a tale of chances created, but not finished as a combination of wastefulness and good goalkeeping from Oxford ensured that Maids could only add one more through Richard Muvlany's reverse stick strike into the corner of the goal, completing a 4-1 win.
MoM - shared between Cameron and Elvin
DoD - Ollie for doing all of the hard work to get past the keeper before flailing and missing on the reverse and falling over in the process!
Next week, Maids look to continue the momentum in a local derby away to Marlow.
