This was the last match of the day at the Oxford ground. The light had gone, and the heavens had opened - well and truly! Arc building classes should have been laid on in the sports centre - it was that bad!
Despite the Oxford team being full of very fit student aged players, we had our secret weapon on the pitch - James our goal scorer was back from travelling!! It certainly showed in the final score!
It was also the first match where we welcomed Mr Temmink senior to the squad - a great addition to the team!
Our valiant goal keeper (Seb) made many great saves, but ultimately the energy levels of the Oxford "fitties", along with their seemingly limitless number of subs, saw them challenge our crew just a little too much, breaking through our defence a little too much, taking the final score to 6:5 to Oxford.
Man of the Match - could be nobody else but James for saving us from another slaughtering!
DOD - Markus it seems that to this hot-head, every hockey ball looks like an opportunity to hit an aerial! We all love you Markus...just STOP hitting aerials - especially when they land at the opposition's feet!
