Having lost to the 3rd team at Leighton Buzzard last week, the Monarchs returned with a full squad at put thing rights with a deserved win against the Fledglings team. Dave Hannon put in a man of the match performance in goal having stepped in to replace Martin Jones and produced some great saves throughout the match. The Monarchs started off very well when Rod latched onto a through ball after 5 minutes and slotted home with a great near post finish. The Leighton Buzzard team did press very well and through mounted pressure, they equalised midway into the first half. In the second half, the Monarchs stood firm with the whole defence standing up well to a surge of Leighton Buzzard attacks but some very good forward play from Alex Butt, who started to push up from defence to assist in the search for a winner, eventually paid off as he provided a great through ball which Viren finished to win the game with 5 minutes to go. The whole team put in a great performance in what was a hard-fought victory.

If meeting at the club house, can I suggest being there at 9am. If driving straight there, please can you be there by 10:30am at the latest.

Each and every week, along with your confirmation if you are playing, could you please let me know the following:

a) if you are meeting at the clubouse or going directly to the ground.
b) if you need a lift there or a lift back so that we can arrange accordingly.
c) if you are planning on staying for teas.

If there is nil response (by Thursday midday), I will assume that you are going straight to the ground and that you have transportation sorted and that you are not intending to stay for teas (and on the last point I will let the opposition know accordingly).

We should have a full squad for this game so will hopefully fare much better than last weekend, although well done to everyone who played last week - great effort given we had a bare 11 and people playing out of position.
