Maidenhead Monarchs kept their away record in good shape this weekend
with a resounding 3 - 1 win against a strong Eastcote side who are
battling for third place with the Monarchs. Monarchs took the lead
within the first 10 minutes with a tap in from Rod against the run play
and then took charge of the rest of the first half with a number of
chances. David Gordon-Smith made a number of saves in goal towards the
end of the first half to keep monatchs ahead.
Eastcote kept up the pressure at the beginning of the second half and
scored an equaliser after some sustained attacks to bring the score
level. Monarchs dug deep and pressured Eastcote for the remaining
quarter of the second half and their sustained pressure saw Ollie score
from a quick long corner from the edge of the D and Harley with a
searing reverse hit from the opposite side of the D securing the win in
the final few minutes.
