We started with a 4-5-1 formation against the Rascals. We started quite well in the first half against a Reading side that are challenging for promotion. Although we conceded in the first 10 minutes, we were really holding our own against the Rascals with Connor making some good saves, the midfield and defence doing well to contain the promotion chasing side and we sometimes hit them on the counter attack which lead to some Penalty Corners that could have resulted in goals. The Rascals second goal came in the middle of the first half when Bruce tried to clear to ball but ended up scoring an own goal. So we finished the first half two goals down. Mike McGovern suffered a knock in the first half, so we put him upfront for the rest of the first half with Tim dropping back into midfield. However, we had to the second half with ten men because it was a concussion that Mike suffered, so Tim went back upfront as the Lone Target Man. The second half was one way traffic with Reading piling forward at every opportunity which resulted in them scoring five more goals, even though we had some chances in the second half. It really is not easy playing with ten men and no subs to roll on against a very good team challenging at the top of the division.
