We are delighted to confirm that David Joshua (Ladies 2's Coach) has been appointed as our new Director of Hockey to help drive forward the club’s vision of continued growth and success, at every level.

The new, full time role, will encompass both strategic planning as well as the practical, day-to-day running of Hockey at the club. David will be responsible for devising and delivering a new strategic plan, to encompass the support and development of players at all levels, from social to elite. David will also work closely with the existing management team, to ensure that the club continues to deliver a comprehensive and successful Hockey programme for both its senior and colts divisions.

David has an extensive background in the hockey arena both at International and grass roots level. Having previously held positions with the South African Hockey Association, England Hockey and Reading Hockey Club.

Gill Towell, Acting Chair at Maidenhead Hockey Club, said: "We are delighted to have David on board. As the club continues to grow and notch up successes, now is the opportune time to appoint a Director of Hockey to accelerate our growth. David has been with the club for the last year, coaching our Ladies 2s and his background in hockey, both on the ground as a coach and at a more strategic level, made him the ideal candidate for the role. I have no doubt that his appointment will have a hugely positive impact on our future development as a club.”

David Joshua added: “It is a fantastic time to be a part of Maidenhead Hockey Club and I am very much looking forward to working with the wider management team to ensure that we continue to build on the successes of recent years. Maidenhead is a very supportive club, welcoming people at all levels within the sport and this is something we are looking to continue – from our Colts through to our Vets teams there is a place for everyone at this club.”

We very much want to grow the club and encourage more people to join the family on both an elite and social level and feel sure this new appointment will enable us to do so.

Congratulations David - great to have you on board.
