The Men's 3's got their title challenge back on track with a well deserved victory against fellow title hopefuls Yateley.

Welcoming 2 new players to the squad in young Gianluca and seasoned vet Guy meant we had a full squad of 14 which we used to full advantage thankfully as there were a few walking wounded by the end of the match.

Trying to put last week's capitulation out of their minds the 3's starting strong and took the lead when goalscoring machine Viren finished off after receiving a superb long pass into the D from Dave Merriman.

Before half time and against the run of play Yateley equalised from a short corner with a devilishly accurate shot which looped over Rav in goal and evaded the fine efforts of Colin to stop it.

The 3's continued to press into the second half and finally scored when Dave Merriman deflected the ball into the net, again from another great long pass into the D, this time from Richard.

Looking to finish off the game Viren went on a marauding run baring down on goal when the keeper with only eyes for the striker took him out resulting in a penalty flick being awarded.

Captain Ollie stepped up but fluffed the opportunity muttering to himself that they always go in top corner at training. Thankfully his blushes were spared as the final whistle came shortly after.

Still top of the league, 2 points clear with 2 games remaining before winter break.
