Our U12G's played in the League at Henley Hockey Club today and lucky for us there was no rain!!
Huge thanks to Henley for hosting us today with their 3 teams, with Wallingford and ourselves bringing 1 team each.
The girls played really well, very much focusing on pressing the ball and were having good success with this. Also their defensive short corners worked well too. Wallingford were a tough team to face first, who were both stronger in game play and physicality but our Maidenhead girls dug in deep and played well despite the score line. Next up we secured our first win of the day against Henley 2's.
Our 3rd match was against Henley 1's who again were stronger in every sense, but it was a great to see all the girls playing together on the pitch and were pressing in opposition's D on numerous occasions, and were unlucky not to score. The Henley coach commented on the girls pressing in the game and how well they played.
The final match was against Henley 3's were again we managed to secure a win.
Well done to everyone that played and I hope the 2 girls that were unable to join us are feeling better.
Super proud of how well you played today. POM goes to Lucy for losing her tooth in her gumshield before she even started on the pitch and was completely undeterred and played in all the games!! Hope the tooth fairy visits tonight!
