On Saturday 8th March, Maidenhead 2’s played Reading 5s in an unfortunate defeat away from home during the critical last weeks of the season.

The first half, pushback at 10:00 am, started poorly as Maidenhead still seemed asleep; this was not helped by Reading’s rapid press giving the defence and keeper difficult tests early on. This pressure paid off as within 10 minutes they converted from a short corner and yours truly earning DOTD.

This pressure kept up and led to Maidenhead’s heads dropping as a 2nd goal was conceded and by half time it was 3.

The start of the second half showed a much better team performance, courtesy of the team being berated by Jaypee at half-time. Maidenhead found their rhythm towards the end of the second half. Although being 3:0 down our MOTM Torin put in a ridiculously hard shift to get a goal and an assist leaving the final score 5-2 to Reading
