Well what can I say. 5 matches for the boys today and 4 wins!!! But the fact we won the games doesn’t tell the story.

First of all it was great to have a good availability today. We had 10 players and that enabled us to help out Marlow who were short of players.
Thanks in particular to Thomas and Damion for joining Marlow for their games.

Now to the boys levels today. Ankur got them raring to go whilst I was coordinating with the other coaches and they hit the ground running.

What we loved today was the following.
1. The press: every boy knew their role and worked hard to win the ball high up the field.
2. ⁠Speed of transitions.: The passing and movement meant that we went from defence to attack so quickly and cut through teams 3. ⁠the work rate: every boy worked so hard up and down the pitch. Never giving up on winning the ball back.
4. ⁠Defence support: the defenders were always available for a pass back 5. ⁠calmness: the boys did not panic when closed down they kept the ball and more often than not found the pass.
6. ⁠The communication: the best I have seen from them. They talked to each other and let each other know where they were.
7. ⁠Team ethos: the boys are great bunch to coach and they all get on together and there are no egos

What could we improve? Not a lot based on today but a couple of points.

1. We need to keep going from 1st minute to the last minute
2. ⁠in last game when things are not going right we need to remember the game plan and not try and do too much to beat players etc. stick to the ethos that worked.
